Making a fashion statement! Christian Siriano teamed up with J. Jill to create a stunning all-inclusive collection. As if the gorgeous pieces weren’t enough, the 33-year-old designer exclusively revealed to Life & Style that the clothing line was inspired by his mom, and now we love it even more.

“I really was excited because you know when they asked me to kind of partner with them, I wanted to make sure it could actually be like very kind of inclusive and this is probably my first collaboration that really is full-size range so we’re doing petite up to 4X, you know starting at size 0 so that’s really why,” he said during the J. Jill and Christian Siriano capsule collection launch in September. “I was like I love that idea. I obviously envision someone like, you know growing up my mom was J.Jill customer and I really was like ‘oh I want to do something for her and that woman.’ So yeah.”

Christian revealed it’s important for all kinds of women — from the ones in his personal life to strangers — to feel included in his latest project. “I was like ‘I want my mom, her friends and then my sister, her friends.’ My sister’s a mom also, like I wanted people that have real jobs and a day-to-day life to feel stylish in clothes — that was why.”

The Project Runway alum also hopes to see famous ladies rockin’ his clothes, including Whoopi Goldberg. “I want like all these powerful women to wear this,” he confessed.

Besides making sure everyone wears the clothing line, Christian hopes to get his message across: “celebrating beauty and it comes in all shapes and sizes.” He added, “I also really like seeing all the customers styling things in different ways. It’s kind of cool and it proves my point that you can be any size and still be stylish.”
It’s clear the fashion designer is hardworking. He already has his hands full with his next project, which involves Niecy Nash. Christian is so passionate about fashion that he calls his career his “baby,” leaving him little time for a personal life. “I want to make sure that my work is out there.” What a boss!
