Cole Sprouse Says ‘Riverdale’ Cast Is ‘Recovering’ Following Luke Perry’s Passing: He ‘Impacted Our Lives’

In the days following Luke Perry’s sudden and tragic passing, our hearts continue to ache for the star’s family, friends and loved ones. Over the past few years, Luke spent a great deal of time alongside his Riverdale costars — including Jughead Jones actor Cole Sprouse.

Speaking in a recent interview, Cole, 26, reflected on Luke’s legacy, as well as how the cast of the hit CW series is handling the news. “We’re recovering. It’s obviously not the easiest thing to talk about,” he began. “He was well-loved and there’s been an outpouring of emotional support from people around the world … which just goes to show what a wonderful person he was and how much he impacted people’s lives and impacted our lives.”

“I know that his family has requested privacy during this period and I respect that quite a bit,” Cole concluded. Of course, Cole isn’t the only Riverdale star to comment on Luke’s passing. Several members of the cast have come forward to share words of love, grief and fondness for their beloved friend.

On Thursday, March 7, Veronica Lodge actress Camila Mendes took to Instagram to share an incredibly heartfelt tribute. “He took care of us all. An authentic man who took pleasure in offering us his guidance and wisdom,” Camila, 24, captioned a charming snapshot of the pair. “I will never forget the collective shock and distress we experienced when the news broke on set. We lost a dear friend.”
