News of Luke Perry‘s sudden death left the cast and crew of Riverdale devastated. The rest of the season, including the newest March 6 episode, will be dedicated to the late actor, according to the show’s creator. The Hollywood icon passed away on March 4 after suffering a massive stroke.

“Going through pictures on my way to set. From the early days. With Luke in the middle. Our heart, always,” Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wrote on Twitter with a photo of their team. He added a few details about the upcoming episode of the CW show. “Tonight’s episode of #Riverdale finds Fred doing what he does best — helping Archie. It is dedicated to Luke, as all episodes will be for the rest of our run.”

His Riverdale family is obviously crushed by this loss and have been reeling for days from the tragic news. “We are deeply saddened to learn today about the passing of Luke Perry. A beloved member of the Riverdale, Warner Bros. and CW family, Luke was everything you would hope he would be: an incredibly caring, consummate professional with a giant heart, and a true friend to all,” show producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and Jon Goldwater said in a statement.

“A father figure and mentor to the show’s young cast, Luke was incredibly generous, and he infused the set with love and kindness. Our thoughts are with Luke’s family during this most difficult time.”
