Camila Mendes Posts the Most Emotional Tribute to ‘Riverdale’ Costar Luke Perry: ‘My Heart Hurts’

People are still reeling from the sudden death of Luke Perry. Riverdale actress Camila Mendes posted an emotional tribute about her friend and costar and revealed that she was on set when the alarming news broke. One thing is for sure: He will be greatly missed.

“He took care of us all. An authentic man who took pleasure in offering us his guidance and wisdom,” the 24-year-old wrote about the 90210 actor. “His presence was healing; he had the ability to make you feel comfortable and at ease within seconds of seeing him.”

When word spread about Luke’s untimely passing, production temporarily shut down on the CW show. Camila touched on that moment of grief that spread through the cast and crew. She said, “I will never forget the collective shock and distress we experienced when the news broke on set. We lost a dear friend.”

The iconic actor has two children — Jack, 21, and Sophie, 18 — whom Camila wanted to extend her condolences to. Her post continued, “My heart hurts for his family and anybody who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace, Luke. Although you’re no longer around to wrap me in the warmth of your hug, I can still remember what it felt like. whenever I think of you, I will remember that feeling.”

His death has left a huge hole on Riverdale and the show creator divulged that every episode will be devoted to him. “Going through pictures on my way to set. From the early days. He added a few details about the March 6 episode and the entirety of the season. “Tonight’s episode of #Riverdale finds Fred doing what he does best — helping Archie.
