Debby Ryan Shares Photos of Her Growing Baby Bump, Explains the Special Meaning Behind Them
Debby Ryan is glowing — and not just because she’s expecting.
On November 10, the Insatiable actress shared a stunning series of photos on Instagram, proudly showing off her growing baby bump in a peaceful woodland setting.
The carousel captured Ryan surrounded by nature, radiating joy. But while the images were beautiful on their own, it was her emotional caption that revealed the deeper meaning behind the shoot.
“My big brother creates really special images, and ever since we were lil kids, he’d always let me play,” Ryan wrote.
“We could create whole worlds in the woods. Now we’re grown and we’ve built worlds and families of our own, but they still overlap — we live in the same town again, different woods this time, but we still wander, all together now. He gave me a sister and one of my very best friends, and she’s also talented at capturing moments beautifully — he took the digitals, she took the film photos.”
Ryan’s older brother, Chase Ryan — a music producer — and his wife, Sarah Shaw, have their own special connection to the woods. When the couple announced they were expecting a baby girl in March 2023, they documented the milestone with a similar outdoor photoshoot.
Now, as Ryan prepares to welcome her first child with husband Joshua Dun of Twenty One Pilots, she reflected on how this new chapter has deepened her family bonds.
“They made me and Joshua an aunt and uncle, and watching them become parents changed me,” she wrote. “Now it’s wild that our kids are going to have the same age difference we do.”
The actress went on to share her gratitude for the growing network of love surrounding her. “Making Joshua’s parents grandparents, making his sisters aunts and his brother an uncle, giving my parents a grandkid and my niece a cousin — and returning the favor for Chase and Sarah — these are among the greatest honors I’ve been feeling along this journey. Don’t get me started on Josh.”
Ryan ended her caption with a heartfelt reflection on motherhood and family. “It’s been a road to this point, and there’s still miles to go, but I’m just really grateful to be sharing it, in all the big and small ways. I couldn’t have imagined this depth of support and warmth — and that’s on family.”
The 32-year-old and Dun first announced their pregnancy on September 7 with a joint Instagram post captioned simply, “dun&dun + one.” Following the announcement, Ryan received an outpouring of love from fans and famous friends alike.
Singer Hayley Kiyoko commented, “😭 so happy for you guys!!!” while AJ Michalka of Aly & AJ added, “🙌🙌🙌 so happy for you guys ❤️.” Even fashion designer Betsey Johnson couldn’t resist chiming in with a flood of pink hearts: “💗💗💗💗.”
