Debby Ryan Shares Big News After Nearly 6 Years of Marriage to Twenty One Pilots Drummer Josh Dun

Actress Debby Ryan and her husband, Twenty One Pilots drummer Josh Dun, announced on Sunday night that they were expecting a child together after nearly six years of marriage.

The couple revealed the big news in an Instagram post captioned, “dun & dun + one.” In the gallery of images, Dun can be seen cradling his wife’s baby bump while holding a mini pair of Vans classic slip-on checkerboard shoes.

They also tapped the husband-and-wife visual artist duo DabsMyla for a custom cartoon of themselves, as well as sharing a sonogram and a couple other photos of Ryan’s baby bump.

While they didn’t reveal a due date, Ryan appears to be well into the pregnancy.

Ryan and Dun secretly wed in Austin, TX on New Year’s Eve in 2019 after planning a “whirlwind” wedding in just 28 days.

Fans weren’t clued in until the following April, when Dun was spotted wearing a wedding ring in a surprise music video Twenty One Pilots dropped for the song “Level of Concern.”

“We began to flirt with the idea of having a destination party celebrating the new decade, then decided in December to get married [in Austin] on New Year’s Eve, and just keep dancing until after the ball dropped,” Ryan later told Vogue. The passing of a close friend the summer before helped nudge the couple into making things official.

“The time just felt right,” Ryan continued. “He was excited that Joshua and I were getting married, and I never doubted that I’d know him through every coming phase of our lives. When he passed, it really rocked me and put a lot of things in perspective. It didn’t feel important to wait anymore, to stop being busy, or for things to line up perfectly—intending to do things is not nearly as powerful as doing, as we aren’t promised tomorrow.”

For the weekend-long festivities, the couple settled on Austin’s 4-star hotel, Hotel Van Zandt. Ryan wore a Elie Saab dress, while Dun chose an emerald velvet Paul Smith suit with Nike Cortez shoes.

“We wanted our guests to be able to change for dancing, take a disco nap, and come and go at their leisure,” the former Disney Channel star explained. “It honestly felt like we took over the hotel. The style was right: The chairs in the ballroom looked like some I wanted to rent. The whole floor had space for lounging, a couple of bars, a photo booth, plus the event space was three ballrooms with floating walls. This allowed us to put the dance floor in the middle space, opening up to one side for the dinner reception, toasts, and first dances.”
