Jennifer Tilly’s Perfect Poker Face! Find Out How the Actress and Pro Card Player Makes Her Money
Since landing her first big screen supporting role in Bullets Over Broadway in 1994, Jennifer Tilly has been working steadily in Hollywood as an actress and voice actress.
In addition to her work in showbiz, the Academy Award nominee has earned herself a World Series of Poker bracelet in 2005, securing her spot as a serious poker player.
What Is Jennifer Tilly’s Net Worth?
As she stands now, Jennifer Tilly has a net worth of $40 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
She’s been involved with movie and television productions since 1983, giving her over four decades to pile her fortune high, not to mention her poker winnings, reality show appearances and inheritance.
How Does Jennifer Tilly Make Her Money?
Jennifer made her name as a scream queen in the Child’s Play franchise since the late 90s, including Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky and most recently the Chucky reboot from 2021. She’s also starred in the Syfy/USA series, Chucky, since 2021.
While a dependable, if niche, franchise is certain to help her pad her pockets, the Los Angeles native also has other notable film and television spots to draw from, including a 25-year stint as the voice of Bonnie Swanson on Family Guy and credits in films such as Liar Liar, Bound and Bullets Over Broadway.
In addition to acting, Jennifer has made appearances on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills over the years. While it’s unclear exactly how much she would have made from the reality show, it’s wild popularity certainly makes it likely it was a decent amount.
The GLAAD Award winner also has her passion for poker to thank for her growing net worth. Introduced to the game by a videogame her father gave her, Jennifer learned how to play over the table from a boyfriend in Los Angeles. Quickly realizing she had talent and skill, she began competing professionally.

She won $158,625 and a World Series of Poker bracelet in a Ladies’ No-Limit Texas hold ’em event in 2005 and the World Poker Tour Ladies Invitational Tournament a few months later. She would go on to come in third place on Bravo’s Celebrity Poker Showdown in 2006, in addition to participating in the Game Show Network’s Poker Royale series. In 2014, the actress received a Spirit of Poker Living Legend Award nomination from PokerListing. The most recent figure, from 2017, has Jennifer up by more than $992,000 in live poker tournaments.
Another source of serious cash is an inheritance from her late ex husband, The Simpsons cocreator and coproducer Sam Simon, who left her 30 percent of his royalties from perhaps the most notable animated show of all time after his death.
What Has Jennifer Tilly Said About Her Net Worth?
In 2017, Jennifer told the BUILD Series that he had actually considered abandoning acting in favor of a full on shift to professional poker playing.
“I won a gold bracelet the first year I went to The World Series of Poker,” she said. “After that, I was like, ‘Wow, I should switch careers. I really have a knack for this poker thing.’”
Laughing, the Saturn Award winner joked that she may have been riding high on beginners’ luck early on, adding, “But it was really hard going after that. I’m like that child actress that, at 13 years old, wins an Oscar and then after that realizes acting is really really hard.”
Beginners’ luck or not, she became a solid player, reportedly totally over seven figures in 2019.
