Prior to drunkenly peeing in her roommate’s bed on national television, Floribama Shore star Kortni Gilson was reportedly arrested for a DUI after a boozy night in her hometown of Panama City Beach, FL. Radar Online reports that the 22-year-old MTV personality’s brush with the law occurred in October 2016.

According to a police report obtained by the website, Kortni was found sleeping behind the wheel of her car in the parking lot of a gas station around 2:11 a.m. “Officer Driscoll explained he attempted to wake Ms. Gilson by knocking loudly on the front driver side window, but was unsuccessful,” the reporting officer wrote, per Radar Online. “The vehicle was parked between two parking spaces; the vehicle was approximately four feet from a rack of propane tanks, which was directly in front of the vehicle.”

In an effort to avoid a potentially dangerous situation, the reporting officer opened Kortni’s front door (which was apparently unlocked) and turned her vehicle off. After several attempts, officers were eventually able to wake the Florida native. “I asked Ms. Gilson if she knew where she was, and she stated, ‘in front of Newby’s (a local bar).’ I observed that Ms. Gilson’s eyes were bloodshot and watery. I could smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle,” the report continued, adding that Kortni admitted that she had “a lot” to drink that night.

“Ms. Gilson spoke with a thick tongue and her speech was slurred and delayed. Upon exiting the vehicle, she lost her balance and stumbled,” the report added. After failing standardized field sobriety exercises, she was arrested and slapped with a DUI charge — which she later pled not guilty to. She also pled no contest to her reckless driving charge.

Radar Online reports that Kortni was “sentenced to 12 months probation with an early termination of probation upon completion of the conditions at six months,” and “was also ordered to perform 50 hours of community service, complete a DUI First Offender Program and pay $1,050 in fines.” Her license was suspended for six months, she was disallowed any alcohol consumption during her probation, and she was subject to random breath tests.

These days, Kortni has seemingly learned from her past mistakes — because, as viewers have witnessed on MTV, she and the Floribama Shore cast always take cabs home after getting turnt at the club. In an exclusive interview with Life & Style, series star Candace Rice said that it’s actually Kortni’s penchant for partying that makes her so lovable.

“Right off the bat, Kortni and I clicked. It doesn’t show this, but as soon as I walked into the house, Kortni welcomed me with a shot,” Candace said of the reality show’s resident wild child. “And that type of person is the type of person that I’m meant to room with! So yeah, Kortni and I were tight from the minute I walked into the house.”

Floribama Shore airs on MTV Mondays at 10 p.m. EST. Watch the video below to see how the cast of the show’s predecessor, Jersey Shore, has changed over the years!
