Awards season is in full swing, y’all! On Sunday, January 5, we geared up for the very first celebration of film and television of 2020 — and the Golden Globe Awards red carpet certainly did not disappoint when it comes to legendary looks from our favorite celebs.
Folks like Jennifer Aniston, Margot Robbie and Jennifer Lopez came through to show off their finest ‘fits on the Golden Globes red carpet this year — but, as you well know, there can only be so many style winners at the event. And we all know there are always a few fashion losses at every awards show … so we’ve decided to bring you a selection of both. Besides, what’s going to bring you back from the brink of sadness when your favorite show/movie/actor doesn’t win what’s rightfully theirs? The style and the fashion, that’s what.
Scroll through the gallery to see the best and worst dressed celebs at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards.

Tiffany Haddish
While the color was vibrant like the comedian, the cut of this boring gown missed the mark.

Billy Porter
Like a true style king, the Pose star never fails to turn a ~lewk~ … and this white, feathered train was no exception.

Taylor Swift
Though nominated for an original song for Cats, that’s about the only “win” the pop star can take from the night. The print on this gown is an eyesore.

Brad Goreski
This textured and patterned suit from this legendary stylist was a lovely change of pace from the ever-typical black tuxes all over the carpet.
6 of 34
Shailene Woodley
This actress would have been better served without the halter portion of this mismatched navy and black gown.
7 of 34
Cynthia Erivo
The Harriet nominee was glowing in this stunning custom Thom Browne gown.
8 of 34
Rooney Mara
This ethereal look from the actress was a little too fairy princess for our liking. The hairdo takes it over the edge and into Lord of the Rings territory.
9 of 34
Dakota Fanning
For lessons on how to effortlessly look like a princess, this former child actress hit the nail on the head with this lavender tulle gown.
10 of 34
Rachel Brosnahan
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star usually serves us serious looks … so we were disappointed with this blasé ‘fit.
11 of 34
Ilsa Fischer
This funny gal looked sweet and sleek in this hot purple gown with embellished sleeves.
12 of 34
Phoebe Waller-Bridge
The Fleabag actress would’ve totally pulled this pantsuit off if it weren’t for the embellished shoulder. Sometimes, less is, indeed, more.

Joey King
This Iris Van Herpen gown from The Act star was simply a walking work of art.
14 of 34
Naomi Watts
The legendary actress wore a sparkling Armani gown and Tabayer‘All Eyes On You’ earrings, but her ensemble left something to be desired.

Kaitlyn Dever
The Booksmart star made a splash on the red carpet in this gorgeous floral gown with embellished sleeves.

Molly Simms
This model looked, well, a mess on the red carpet — the feathered bottom to this gown was an all-around bad design choice.
17 of 34
Kerry Washington
The Scandal star looked absolutely stunning in this daring dress and blazer combo.
18 of 34
Margot Robbie
The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star didn’t wow us in this straight cut gown — it’s similar to the types of red carpet looks she gravitates toward. Try something different, Margot!
19 of 34
Kristen Cavallari
The reality starlet looked positively perfect in this sleek gown while she moderated the red carpet.
20 of 34
Margaret Qualley
The Once Upon a Time In Hollywood star left a lot to be desired with this shapeless gown with a sharp, straight neckline.
21 of 34
Laura Dern
The Little Women matriarch looked California cute in this floral gown. Plus, that mussed up hair looked super sexy!
22 of 34
Kirsten Dunst
The On Becoming a God in Central Florida nominee would’ve pulled this Rodarte gown off … if the cut had been right in the first place. The low waist throws off the entire piece.
23 of 34
Rachel Weisz
This actress took sexy to a new level in this polished, form-fitting gown with white trimming.
24 of 34
Kate McKinnon
The SNL star could’ve come a bit more dressed for the occasion.
25 of 34
Renee Zellweger
The Judy star looked so sexy in this light blue gown with such a flattering neckline. That high slit, too!
26 of 34
Jodie Comer
The Killing Eve star decided on a pretty loud gown — unfortunately, while the color stood out for the right reasons, the cut stood out for the wrong ones.
27 of 34
Saoirse Ronan
The Little Women star gave us classier Paris Hilton vibes with this sexy, sparkling gown.
28 of 34
Jennifer Lopez
The Hustlers star looked a little too Christmas present for our liking in this embellished gown with a front-and-center bow.
29 of 34
Sofia Vergara
The Modern Family babe continued her streak of sexy and sultry red carpet looks in this gorgeous red gown with crystalline finishings.
30 of 34
Jennifer Aniston
The Morning Show nominee would’ve blown our minds with this simple black princess gown … if it weren’t for that awkward neckline.
31 of 34
Zoe Kravitz
The Big Little Lies star actually nailed this polka-dotted number — the contrast actually works quite well between the cut and the addition of a bow to the waist.
32 of 34
Greta Gerwig
The Little Women director’s gown was a little too ’90s rebellious teenager for our liking. The hairdo and choker didn’t help pull it out of the nostalgia, either.
33 of 34
Zoey Deutch
The actress looked super fierce in this ’70s-inspired, bell-sleeved gown. Groovy!

Anna Paquin
The True Blood actress looked a little too Forever 21 for such a big night. Plus, those sleeves give us a bit of a Sunday at church vibe.
