A Multitalented Queen! Halsey Says She Did Her Own Makeup for the 2019 CMAs

Is there anything she can’t do?! In addition to being a talented singer-songwriter, Halsey is also quite the makeup artist. Shortly after the 2019 Country Music Association Awards aired, a fan of the “Clementine” songstress, 25, took to Twitter to compliment Halsey’s glam for the evening.

“Makeup [is] flawless,” the user gushed on Wednesday, November 11, along with a video of the NJ native performing on stage with Lady Antebellum. “Thank you, I did it myself!!!!” Halsey replied.

For those of you who didn’t tune in, Halsey and the beloved musical trio totally brought down the house with a stellar country/pop mashup. The dynamic foursome played “What If I Never Get Over You,” as well as a slowed-down version of Halsey’s hit single “Graveyard.”

Come January 2020, Halsey’s highly anticipated third album, MANIC, will be available for your listening pleasure. Here’s the thing, though, if you’re expecting something similar to Badlands or Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, you’re out of luck … in the best way! 

“It’s very human,” Halsey told Billboard of MANIC. “A lot of those sounds are super organic. It’s a lot of people sounds. It’s skin, you hear skin, you can tell there’s people making it.”

“I sat there to make this album and I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m going to make an angry album,’” Halsey continued. “And I wasn’t mad. It’s exciting. I’m closing a chapter in this record that I feel very much like I needed to put the final word on, put the nail in the coffin, if you will. Graveyard, marry it.”

As it stands, “Graveyard,” “Clementine,” and “Without Me” are all available, but you’ll have to wait until Friday, January 17 for the full 16 tracks. Needless to say, the new year can’t come soon enough! In the meantime, we’ll be over here fawning over everything else Halsey can do.
