Hilary Duff’s Posts on Instagram May Have Led to Her House Being Robbed
The Bling Ring part two? Last week, Hilary Duff‘s LA house was robbed while she was on vacation with son Luca, 5 — and the suspect(s) apparently knew the home would be empty by following her on social media.
“This is a scary and upsetting situation for anyone to go through, but Hilary is thankful that her family, her staff, her home and her pets are all safe,” the 29-year-old’s rep told Us Weekly in a statement. “That said, she has a significant security team in place that will work with the authorities on this incident and handle security measures moving forward.” Find out what was stolen in the video below:
A recent string of high-profile robberies has convinced many celebs to change the way they post on Instagram and Snapchat. Kim Kardashian believed she was targeted during an armed robbery in October because of how frequently she updates her different accounts. One of the thieves implicated in the burglary confirmed her obsessive sharing played a role.

“The jewels were shown on the Internet, and [she said] that she didn’t wear fakes,” Aomar Ait Khedache explained, according to a police report. “The time she would arrive in France, you just had to look at the Internet and you knew everything, absolutely everything.”
