Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson Is So Down With Mama June’s New Man (EXCLUSIVE)
Grab a glass of go-go juice and cheers to Mama June Shannon’s new relationship! The titular star of WE tv’s Mama June: From Not to Hot has found love again years after splitting from longtime love Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson — and her youngest daughter, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, gave her seal of approval during an exclusive interview with Life & Style.
“I feel very happy because I’ve never seen her smile this much, I swear — ever in her life,” the 12-year-old reality TV personality gushed. “She’s always grinning. Always grinning. She always says it’s the little things that matter and he does the little things.”
Though the identity of June’s latest beau is still a secret, Radar Online is reporting that the 39-year-old is currently romancing Geno Doak, a hunky handyman she had a brief fling with in 2015. During her chat with Life & Style, June promised that fans will get to know him soon enough. “You will figure out [who he is when Season 2 of From Not to Hot premieres],” the mother-of-four said, adding that the relationship has changed her outlook on love. “He came into our lives when we needed someone to show that men are not all bad.”
In fact, June is even considering the idea of tying the not with her new guy on TV. Asked about the idea of a televised wedding ceremony, the How to Honey Boo Boo author coyly said, “For the first time in my life, I would say [marriage] and Mama June in the same sentence — but a piece of paper isn’t going to change my love for him and it wouldn’t ever. Nowadays, you don’t have to get married to show that you love somebody. A piece of paper doesn’t show that.”
While she deliberates whether she wants to get hitched in front of millions of viewers, Alana believes her mama will eventually give in. “You know you would!” the Toddlers & Tiaras alum exclaimed. Fingers crossed!
