British soccer superstar David Beckham and wife (and former Spice Girl) Victoria Beckham welcomed their first child, Brooklyn Joseph, on March 4, 1999. Contrary to popular belief, the now-18-year-old was not named for the place where he was conceived. Instead, his mom simply liked the name Brooke and wanted the male version.
