The Weeknd Hasn’t ‘Completely Stopped Thinking’ About Ex Bella Hadid: ‘He’s Keeping His Options Open’
Amicable exes. The Weeknd and Bella Hadid “have moved on with their lives” since calling it quits in August 2019 “but remain on friendly terms,” a source exclusively tells Life & Style.
While the “Blinding Lights” artist, 30, has “wined and dined a couple of lucky ladies,” following his on-again, off-again relationship with the supermodel, 23, he’s committed to “keeping his options open,” adds the insider.
“If a few dates turn into something more, then great! That doesn’t mean he’s completely stopped thinking about Bella,” says the source. “When it comes to being in a full-blown relationship, The Weeknd is one of the pickiest men in Hollywood! He’d rather be alone than with the wrong woman. Unlike many celebrities, he really enjoys his own company.”
For Bella’s part, it appears as though she shares a similar approach to dating. The Washington D.C. native has seemingly remained single in the year-long aftermath of her split from The Weeknd (real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye). However, according to a second insider, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills guest star is beginning to reconsider being alone.
Seeing her pregnant sister, Gigi Hadid, and her longtime partner, Zayn Malik, “so loved up” is causing Bella to “miss being in a relationship,” the source revealed. “She can’t wait to get back on the dating scene again once lockdown is over.”
Even if Bella doesn’t meet Mr. Right — or reunite with The Weeknd — anytime soon, she’ll have her hands full with an exciting new role. She’s “counting down the days until she becomes an aunt,” a third insider told Life & Style.“Bella can’t wait to see what the baby looks like. She and Gigi recently went through all their old baby photos, and some of Zayn’s, too, trying to figure it out!”
In April, Life & Style confirmed Gigi, 25, and the former One Direction singer, 27, are expecting baby No. 1 sometime in the fall. We look forward to seeing Bella and the rest of the Hadid family, including mom Yolanda Hadid, help out the newly minted parents!
