What? Like it’s hard? Legally Blonde 3 is in the works and Reese Witherspoon divulged tons of details about the exciting project. The third flick is on track to release close to Valentine’s Day 2020 and we’re already working on our bend and snap.
The actress, 43, has had a “great time” being involved in creating the storyline for the iconic Elle Woods. “She’s a very beloved character,” the blonde beauty dished to ET about the fictional Harvard-trained attorney during the season 2 premiere of Big Little Lies on Wednesday, May 29. “You just want her to go on a hero’s journey like she does in the first movie, and I’m having a great time working on it.”
Although mum’s the word about what adventures will unfold for the main character, the Cruel Intentions actress assured, “[We have] a script but we haven’t shot anything.”
Reese confirmed that the much-anticipated sequel was in the works back in June 2018. She posted a video of herself floating in a pool wearing the same sequined pink bikini that Elle wore during her Harvard admissions video. Although she didn’t recall what happened on Days of Our Lives yesterday, she did caption the hilarious footage, “It’s true … #legallyblonde3.”
We originally watched the Delta Nu sorority president explain how exercise gives you endorphins back in 2001. The sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, hit theaters in 2003 and showed the leading lady taking on Washington D.C. as an animal rights activist. It has not been confirmed if Reese’s other costars from the movie like Luke Wilson, Selma Blair or Jennifer Coolidge will also reprise their roles. Sadly, the cute pup who played Elle’s faithful chihuahua, Bruiser Woods (real name Moonie), has since passed away.
