‘BiP’ Alums Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert Think Baby No. 2 Will Be an ‘Easy Adjustment’ for Daughter Emmy
Party of four! Bachelor Nation alums Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert revealed they were expecting a second baby via Instagram on January 28. The parents are already busy with their 17-month-old daughter, Emerson Avery Tolbert, but they can’t wait for their new addition. It turns out, they’re not stressing at all when it comes to introducing the new siblings.
“I think she’s young enough where I think it would be an easy adjustment,” the 32-year-old starlet admitted when asked how her oldest child will react to a new baby in the house. “She’s very sweet, loving and cuddly, so I think she will.” The podcast host added, “I mean she’s great with our dogs so I think she would be very tender with a baby. But it’s hard to say.”
When asked how they’re prepping Emmy, the couple joke that they’re going to just “throw a baby in her lap.” The former Paradise contestant explained that their firstborn is still a bit young to comprehend all the changes that are happening. “She doesn’t understand quite yet. We’ve shown her the ultrasound pics and have been talking to her about it and everything,” she said.
“She’s 17 months so I don’t think she will quite understand until my belly’s real big! When the baby comes home with us I’m still not sure she will quite understand.” It seems like these sibs won’t really remember a time without each other.
The brunette beauty is due in August but since Emmy arrived early, she’s preparing herself for a late July baby. The parents know a little more about what to expect during pregnancy, which is why Tanner is opting to stay on Nutrisystem. “Sympathy weight is a real thing I found out last time,” the 31-year-old admitted. “I gained, like, 25 pounds during Jade’s first pregnancy because every time she ate I ate and I didn’t really notice I was gaining weight until one day when my pants couldn’t fit. I’m going to be a little smarter this go around.”
Since the reality TV star joked with his wife that “we’re going to keep trying for a boy until we have one,” it’s probably best they get used to their pregnancy routine.
