Wedding Bells? Jennifer Garner and John Miller ‘Consider Themselves Informally Engaged’

As destructive wildfires were raging across L.A., Jennifer Garner teamed with World Central Kitchen to help provide meals for first responders and others affected by the blazes. Also on the charity’s volunteer list? Her longtime boyfriend, businessman John Miller, who showed up on January 18 to offer his own assistance.

It’s just one more reason why Jen, 52, knows John is the right man for her. Now, after more than six years in each other’s lives, the Family Switch star and the CEO of CaliGroup are making it official. “John has proven, without a doubt, that he’s willing to stand by Jen through anything,” an insider exclusively tells Life & Style. “She’s saying the wedding will be held this summer.”

The pair quietly began dating in 2018, around the time Jen’s divorce from Ben Affleck was finalized. While they were on-and-off early on, says the insider, Jennifer and John have been serious for a while now. “They’ve considered themselves informally engaged for well over a year, and everyone who needs to know has been aware of their intention to tie the knot,” dishes the insider. “It’s always just been a question of when!”

Right now, they’re figuring out the logistics, but they know, “the wedding will be very small, and they don’t want anything ostentatious,” reveals the insider, adding that Ben, 52, will definitely be there, along with their three kids — Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 12 — as well as John’s two children. “Other than that, it will be a few family members and a handful of pals.”

The Yes Day actress has worked hard to keep her romance with John private, even as Ben’s second marriage (and ensuing divorce) with Jennifer Lopez, 55, became a public spectacle. “Jen and John don’t make a big fuss out of their date nights and love keeping things spontaneous and lowkey,” says the insider. “It’s way more romantic to them if they can meet somewhere off the beaten track, where they’ll stroll around hand-in-hand without being recognized.”

Still, one of the things Jen loves most about John is how understanding he is about her complicated connection with her ex-hubby. “When Ben’s marriage to J. Lo crumbled, Jen flew into savior mode and John had to take a back seat,” says the insider. “There was no drama; John was extraordinarily understanding, which made Jen fall even more in love with him.”

It helps that John also coparents with his own former spouse, violinist Caroline Campbell. “He’s in a very similar position, so John and Jen can relate to each other,” says the insider. “They are in agreement on just about everything. In many ways, they feel like a married couple already.”
