Jennifer Lopez Says Her Body Is ‘Better Than Ever’ While Sharing New Mirror Selfie After Divorce
Jennifer Lopez is showing off her fit body three months after she finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck.
The “Jenny From the Block” hitmaker, 55, took to Instagram on Tuesday, April 8, with a mirror selfie in which she posed in a black sleeveless plunging bodysuit. J. Lo pushed one hip out and crossed her legs to show off her curvy figure and placed one hand on her thigh, drawing attention to her muscular arm.
“Gratitude check-in,” she wrote in the caption. “1. My body — working hard but still better than ever. 2. The people who keep my heart full. 3. The little moments that become the best memories. What are you grateful for today?”
Fans rushed to the comments to shower the Atlas star with compliments.
“Mama lookin’ GOOD!” one user wrote, while another fan added, “Omg queeeen.”
A third person commented, “Absolutely stunning, as always!”
J. Lo’s post came three months after she and Ben, 52, finalized their divorce, Life & Style confirmed on January 6. The former couple walked away from their two-year marriage with everything they “individually acquired,” according to TMZ. They agreed to keep the earnings from their respective movie projects completed during the marriage.
Additionally, Ben kept his stake in his production company, Artists Equity. The Good Will Hunting actor and his ex also reached a confidential agreement on their $60 million Beverly Hills mansion, which remains for sale as of publication.
J. Lo filed for divorce from Ben on August 20, 2024, the second anniversary of their second wedding ceremony in Georgia, Life & Style confirmed at the time. The “Let’s Get Loud” hitmaker listed their date of separation as April 26, 2024, on the court paperwork.
Despite the divorce filing, a source exclusively told Life & Style in August 2024 that the Hustlers actress had hoped to work through her issues with Ben.
“This has been a long time coming. Jen and Ben have been separated since March when the marriage began to really fall apart and Ben asked for space,” the insider said before concluding that the “marriage was not fixable.”
As for Ben, the source said the Accountant star “had no intention of working on things” and believed the “marriage was a mistake.”
In her first interview following the divorce filing in October 2024, J. Lo told Nikki Glaser that the split felt “lonely, unfamiliar, scary.”
“I was thinking about this time in my life, and I’m like, ‘That’s not what I thought it was going to turn out like.’ And then I thought, ‘No, this is exactly where I needed to be, to lead me to where I want to go,’” the New York native said in the sit-down for Interview magazine. “That doesn’t mean it didn’t almost take me out for good. It almost did. But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, “F–k, that is exactly what I needed.”
Ben recently broke his silence on the divorce in a March interview with GQ, telling the outlet that he has “nothing but respect” for his ex-wife.
“There’s a tendency to look at breakups and want to identify root causes or something. But honestly … the truth is much more quotidian than probably people would believe or would be interesting,” he said. “There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue. The truth is, when you talk to somebody, ‘Hey, what happened?’ Well, there is no, ‘This is what happened.’ It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do.”
