When it comes to the Jersey Shore cast, they’re practically family. So when Life & Style caught up exclusively with the Keto Guido, aka Vinny Guadagnino, recently at the North Shore Animal League’s Get Your Rescue On Gala at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers in NYC on Nov. 30, he was able to share an update on his friend Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, who is getting ready to serve his eight-month-long prison sentence in mid-January 2019.
Before he hits the slammer for tax evasion, however, Mike needed to get one thing settled. When asked about Mike’s pre-sentence wedding on Nov. 1, to college girlfriend, Lauren Pesce, Vinny all but gushed. “The wedding was beautiful. One of the most beautiful weddings I’ve been to. I’m happy for him because as we know he’s facing going away soon and I’m glad that he was able to do that with her and at least get that chapter of his life out.” Considering how totally adorable Mike and his “Laurens” are, we’re sure the wedding was absolutely perfect.
But Vinny’s not too concerned for Mike’s morale during his jail time. “Mike is the strongest person that we all know. His recovery from substances has led him to be in this like bulletproof mind state that he’s just able to take on all these challenges,” Vinny revealed. “He’s the most positive guy in the house and he still does that up until this moment. Like, I’m not even joking. I’m like, what can break this guy? You know, he’s human. You know, it’s going to be tough, but at the same time, like he’s the one to handle it.” Any Jersey Shore fan has probably seen the drastic difference between the old Mike and the new one –– it’s pretty crazy how much the guy has really changed. If he’s truly anything like Vinny says he is, we think he’s gonna be just fine.
We’re really glad Mike was able to have such a beautiful moment to sustain him throughout his sentence. But… don’t you wanna see it? When asked whether or not fans and viewers would be able to get a glimpse of the nuptials, Vinny was the bearer of some good news. “Yeah, it’s going to be on the show! So you’ll be tuning in?” he asked. Yes, Vinny, we most certainly will.
