Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was sentenced to eight months in a correctional facility and two years supervised release in a New Jersey federal court on Friday. He must also take one drug test 15 days after his prison release and two more drug tests following the first. Watch the video above to see the statement he made to the court during his hearing.

In addition to the above, he has to complete 500 hours community service and may have to complete drug testing and mental health or addiction treatment. He was ordered to $123,913 in restitution, but the court said it had already been paid.

The Jersey Shore star, 36, who pled guilty to one count of tax evasion in January, initially sought probation in the case, while the government pushed for a 14-month term.

Prior to the news, his co-star, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, 30, went on Jenny McCarthy‘s SiriusXM Show, The Jenny McCarthy Show, where she revealed that the entire cast was “freaking out for him.”

“Honestly we don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow…” she said on Thursday, Oct. 4, “so hopefully everything is going to be fine.”

She added that they all tried to distract him this week. “We’ve been hanging out all week and you can tell the days are coming quicker and he’s getting more nervous,” she explained. “We’re just trying to be there for him, just hang out with him, make him smile a little bit, but it’s terrifying for him.” And we’re sure his fiance, Lauren Pesce, was freaking out just as much.

Mike’s brother, Marc, also pleaded guilty on Friday and faces two years in prison. In 2014, the brothers were indicted with tax offenses and conspiring to defraud the United States, after allegedly failing to pay taxes on nearly $9 million in income from 2010 to 2012. In April 2017, they were both indicted again on additional charges including falsifying records and tax evasion.
