Meet Cute

The duo met in late winter 2011 in the most normal way. Jessie told Access Hollywood that she got a text from a girlfriend saying, “I’m having dinner with this guy I’m seeing, and this other guy just showed up, and he’s stunning.” Jessie admitted that they texted, video chatted and spoke on the phone before Eric visited her in Nashville five weeks later.

Nervous Nellie

The singer was nervous before she met her future hubby, and she even canceled his flight to Music City the first time. After they finally met, she recalled that their connection was instant. “On the way to me taking him to the airport he asked me to be his girlfriend, literally like an 8th grader,” she said.

The Most Important Question

Eric, 32, proposed to Jessie a year after they started dating in April 2012. “Eric is a great man,” Jessie said at the time. “He is my soul mate. We feel so fortunate to have found each other.”

Forever and Ever

On June 22, 2013, the pair got married at St. Francis of Assisi in Castle Rock, Colorado. The night was documented for their E! reality show.

Surprise!

Three months after they tied the knot, the power couple got some surprising news — they were expecting their first child! “I ran out and showed [the pregnancy test] to him, and he didn’t believe me. So, I had to do it again in front of him and then he believed me!” Jessie said. “We both started crying and hugging each other.”

Two Is Better Than One

On Sept. 3, 2015, Jessie and Eric welcomed their second child into the world — Eric Thomas Decker II. a.k.a. Bubby.

The couple announced on October 9, 2017, that they were adding one more addition to their family. “Eric and I are so excited to share with y’all that we are expecting baby Decker number 3!” Jessie captioned a video of the moment they told their kids. “As you can see Viv is so happy and Bub doesn’t quite know what’s going on, but we are over the moon and feel so blessed and can’t wait to meet this little one end of March.”

Never Apart

So, what makes their relationship work? “We love spending time together,” she exclusively told Life & Style in February. “I think for us, we just like spending time together and when the kids go down at 7:30 p.m., that is our time to be one-on-one and have a glass of wine and just talk to each other, you know, just be alone. I think that is how we do it.”

Soul Mates

She continued, “We had our show together and we do a lot of business together,” she said. “I feel like that is what we love.” At the end of the day, the clothing designer confessed that she and Eric “just like each other” and that their marriage “just works.”

Never Say Never

Can we expect another baby in the future? It doesn’t sound like it — for now. “We are so happy with three [kids],” Jessie said. “If something were to happen, a new baby is always a blessing. But as of right now, we are so enjoying our little 9-month-old Forrest.”

For Eric’s birthday, the brunette beauty couldn’t help but gush about her man on social media. “Happy 32nd birthday to the greatest man I’ve ever known,” she wrote. “I wake up pinching myself everyday wondering how I got so lucky and blessed to be able to call you my husband. Me and the babies adore you, and I can’t wait to spend many more birthdays together celebrating you. My soulmate, my best friend, mi amore. Happy birthday, baby. #bdayboy #miamor #soulmate.”

Dad Duties

The “Flip My Hair” crooner has a lot going on right now — she just opened her store, Kittenish, in Nashville and is about to go on tour. But her hubby couldn’t be happier hanging with the kiddos. “It has been awesome to give her that freedom to do her thing and be home with the babies,” he said.

See Ya!

On Aug. 26, the handsome dad took to Instagram to reveal that he would no longer be playing football anymore. “It has been my childhood dream and my passion to play the game of football,” he wrote. “I was very fortunate and blessed to have had the opportunity to have those dreams fulfilled and to have played with such extremely talented and hard-working teammates, coaches and staff. This has been a passion inside of me since I was a little boy, but I know now it is time to hang my helmet up and start a new chapter in my life. I love football and always will.”

A New Chapter

“It will continue to be a part of my life. I’m looking forward to spending more time with my wife and kids. I want to give a special thank you to my family, friends and fans for all your support on this incredible journey,” he added.

So Supportive

Of course, Jessie supported her man and wrote him a heartfelt note. “Yesterday was an emotional day. My amazing hubby decided to retire from playing football, and I couldn’t be more proud of him and his decision. I cried, smiled and ultimately respected his choice to finish this chapter to start another,” she said.

Another Journey

She added, “This pic was from the first football season I ever shared with him his second year for the Broncos. I loved every minute cheering him on in the stands, meeting amazing friends along the way, bringing our new babies and toddlers to the games as they chanted ‘daddy football daddy football’ in the car on the way the stadium each Sunday.”

Family First

Through it all, the mom of three revealed that she will always cherish the memories from his football career. “From training camps, lugging the babies in the wagons and seeing them run to you on the practice field to get that 30 minutes a day to see daddy,” she said. “I have loved every moment of the last seven years watching my husband kick some serious ass! It’s a career he should be proud of. Can’t wait to share the next adventure with you babe and the amazing things you will do in the future! I love you so much my lover!!! P.S. you said you were going to drive that beat up old Chevy Tahoe you got in college and ride it through the ground until you finished playing football, can we please get a new one now? LOL #footballisfamily

Moving On

The lovebirds documented their lives on their show Eric & Jessie: Game On, but it doesn’t sound like they will be returning with any new episodes. “I think that chapter has been closed,” she revealed. “We are glad with that decision, but in other capacities, we have got some things up our sleeves.”

Through Thick and Thin

Jessie and Eric just celebrated their 8th anniversary on Monday, April 1. “We were babies here, omg!!” she wrote on Instagram. “Not only is it our baby boys’ birthday today, but it’s also me and Eric’s 8-year anniversary. We were introduced 8 years ago tonight around this time. It’s crazy to think that this exact day was the day we were introduced, a year later got engaged on this exact day, and little did we know it would be the day our last baby was born.”
