John Stamos and Caitlin McHugh Just Welcomed Their First Baby Together!
He’s no longer just Uncle Jesse — he’s a dad now, too! John Stamos took to Instagram on Monday, April 16, to share that he and his wife, Caitlin McHugh, have welcomed their first baby — a little boy named Billy.
“From now on, the best part of me will always be my wife and my son. Welcome Billy Stamos (named after my father) #NotJustanUncleAnymore #Overjoyed,” the 54-year-old captioned a sweet snap of his bundle of joy cuddling in his arms. He did not specify the baby’s birthday in the post.
The actor noted in a previous interview how his late father (whom the baby is named after) and mother would have loved Caitlin. “I know my parents are smiling down,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I know they would love her. She’s a gentle, kind, graceful soul who would be a good mother.”
John and Caitlin previously announced they were expecting in December 2017 and then married in early February 2018. At the time, John gushed to People, “I’ll be a fun dad. I’ve been practicing for a long time. I’ve done every schtick you can do with a baby on TV… all the bits and jokes and diaper gags. I’ll probably just do all that stuff.”
The Full House star has been vocal about wanting children for years. “I hope [to have kids],” he once said of starting a family. “That’s always been my plan. It’s just taken me a lot longer than I anticipated. It would be a tragedy if I didn’t have children and I finally found the right woman — the perfect woman.”
That said, just earlier this month he gushed, “My whole life I’ve waited for this moment and the best part is I’m getting to parent with the most perfect woman. She’s just humble and sweet. I have to watch her because it takes her 30 seconds to win somebody over. She’s a really special person.” We’re so glad John’s wishes have finally come true…
And they’re apparently going to continue to do so. In a recent exclusive interview with Life & Style, he shared more kids may be in their future. “She’s already talking about baby No. 2,” John revealed. “We just finished decorating the house…[and] she’s already on the internet looking at new homes that are bigger!” We’re ready for his Full House, that’s for sure!
