How Kaitlyn Dever Honored Her Late Mom With Her 2025 Emmys Look
Kaitlyn Dever paid a heartfelt tribute to her late mother at the 2025 Emmys on Sunday, September 14.
“This is my mom’s jacket. A couple of years ago, she bought this jacket like it was a vintage piece on The RealReal,” Dever told Entertainment Tonight while walking the red carpet.
The Last of Us actress’s mother, Kathy Dever, passed away in February of last year due to breast cancer complications.
“She was like, ‘When you get nominated for an Emmy, I want to wear this with you.’ Unfortunately, she’s no longer with us tonight to wear it, but I had to wear it in her honor,” the 28-year-old said.
“Michael Kors did a whole redo—it’s an entirely Michael Kors look,” Dever added.
After the star-studded night, she shared her tribute again on Instagram.
“This is my mama’s jacket 🙂 I’m so glad I got to have her with me last night and I’m so grateful for the team at Michael Kors for putting it all together,” she wrote.
“I’m so happy I got to honor my mama … and of course a lil Heartbreaker, which ALWAYS makes me think of her.” The Emmy nominee also thanked her sister Jane Dever for “styling.”
Following her mother’s passing, Dever posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, writing, “I miss your smile, your sense of humor, your hugs, your kisses, getting to hold your hand, more than anything in the world.”
“You made everything better. My sweetest, beautiful girl. My best friend. Oh, how much I love you. What a gift it is to love you. I love you forever and ever, Mom.”
