Kanye West Reportedly Bonds With His Dad Amid Cancer Battle — and Brings His Children Along for Support
It’s so heartwarming to see the Kardashian-West family sticking together through times of hardship! Reports that Kanye West‘s dad, Ray West, was diagnosed with prostate cancer surfaced on July 29 and in the days since, it appears that the “All Mine” rapper is trying to make the very best out of a bad situation through some much-needed bonding time.
A source close to the family revealed to TMZ that the father-of-three is taking advantage of Ray’s treatment being in Kanye’s hometown of LA. Despite their once distant relationship — Ray is a chicago native — Kanye has dropped everything to make his father’s recovery a priority.
Additionally, Kanye is reportedly bringing his three children, North West, 5, Saint West, 2, and Chicago West, 6 months, along to support their grandfather in his time of need, which is clearly a silver lining in an otherwise devastating situation. Whether it’s the treatment, family love, or a combination of the two, Ray is apparently responding well and will likely be OK.
The news of Ray’s health battle comes 10 years after Kanye tragically lost his mother, Donda West, due to complications after undergoing plastic surgery. Donda and Ray divorced when Kanye was younger, but Kanye was fortunately able to remain close with both of his parents.

Thankfully, Kanye has been in a good place for a while now and he is able to care for and be there for his father amid his cancer battle. As many of us know, Kanye has struggled for the past couple of years with his own mental health issues ever since he had a mental breakdown while performing at a concert in November 2016.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Kanye and his father. We’re wishing Ray a speedy recovery and many more years of bonding with his beautiful grandchildren!
