Katie Holmes Flaunts Engagement Ring in Front of Friends After Jamie Foxx’s Secret Proposal (EXCLUSIVE)
It’s happening! After a very public beach stroll on Labor Day weekend, Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes are ready to take their relationship to the next level. The couple is talking wedding and a baby, and Jamie has already taken the first step to making it official.
Sources reveal exclusively to Life & Style that Jamie, 49, secretly proposed to Katie, 38, in February. “Katie has even worn her ring in front of friends,” the insider says, “but she’s always denied it was an engagement ring.
Life & Style first broke the news that they were dating back in 2013 — and while the couple has denied their relationship vehemently, Jamie recently gave Katie the green light to be open and honest about their romance. “Katie is thrilled that Jamie is ready to make things official,” the source adds. “She’s wanted this for years.”
However, Katie’s ex-husband, and father of her 11-year-old daughter Suri, Tom Cruise feels betrayed by her relationship with his former co-star. “Tom has known about Katie and Jamie’s secret relationship since the beginning and it has always bothered him that they were hooking up. While Katie and Jamie did their best to keep things a secret from the world, Tom is too well-connected and found out about them shortly after their romance began,” a source told Hollywood Life. “Tom is shocked and upset that Katie is dating a costar he once considered a close friend. He feels betrayed by both of them.”
Tom, 55, is reportedly also the reason Jamie and Katie were forced to keep their relationship on the down low over the last four years. “Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce,” a source said. “She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter Suri.”
