‘Glee’ Alum Kevin McHale Gushes About Heather Morris and Naya Rivera as Moms: ‘They’re Both So Good’
Parenting at its finest! When Life & Style exclusively spoke to Glee’s Kevin McHale about what he thinks of former costars Heather Morris and Naya Rivera’s parenting, the actor had nothing but nice things to say.
“Strangely, it’s not weird to see them as moms. I think in the back of your mind, like, you know, who in your friend group will be good at parenting,” the 30-year-old exclusively told Life & Style. “And it’s like, they immediately just sort of snapped into those roles. Like, how they … watching them talk about their children is one of the most amazing things, because they’re so obsessed with them in all the right ways, all the best ways.”
Kevin then got candid about what he thinks the experience would be like for him. “Like to me, I imagine being a parent, it’s like walking that line of being too helicopter-y, and then also letting them be their own people,” he continued. “And I think they’re both so good at that. Where you see these little humans are very much reflections of their parents, but also very much themselves. It’s the best.”
Naya, 32, has one son — Josey — with ex-husband Ryan Dorsey, whom she welcomed in September 2015. Meanwhile, Heather, also 32, has two kids — sons Elijah, 5, and Owen, 3, with her husband, Taylor Hubbell.
Despite the fact that it’s been over four years since the show ended, the castmates still share a tight bond. In May, it made 10 years since Glee’s first episode aired, and several costars, including Heather, took to Instagram to share kind words for its fans.
“I want to thank @mrrpmurphy@bradfalchukand #ianbrennan for the most incredible and breakthrough storyline anyone could’ve asked for,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. The fans spoke and they listened and it blossomed into something no one could’ve expected but I’m so honored to have represented such an incredible community.” How sweet!
