Kim Kardashian Wants to Chill Out at a Super Zen ‘CBD-Themed’ Baby Shower
The stress levels are starting to rise for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as the arrival of their new son inches closer. That’s why the reality starlet is looking to totally chill out during her baby shower. She revealed that she wants it to be all about slowing down for a few hours and relaxing.
“This year, because I am freaking out so much, I just want a zen-like CBD-themed baby shower,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 38, told E! about the upcoming celebration. CBD is a hot product right now and is being mixed in everything from lotions to ice cream so there are a lot of ways the KKW Beauty founder could incorporate it into her party.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is “extracted from the flowers and buds of marijuana or hemp plants,” according to WebMD. However, it does not contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) so it won’t produce the same “high” someone would get from marijuana. People who tout the benefits claim that it helps with relaxation and anxiety without the same intoxication that THC causes.
Kim wants everyone who attends to feel like they just left the spa. “I just want massages, I want to do like a tea ceremony with crystals … This is the massages for all, like just meditation, calm before the storm baby shower,” she explained.
The Selfish author is expecting baby No. 4 via surrogate so she fully plans on kicking back with an adult beverage. “We’re going to have a drink at this baby shower — we’re not pregnant.”
Although the shower will have a lot of things for the grownups, Kim noted that it will help her other three kids — North, 5, Saint, 3, and Chicago, 14 months, — better understand that something big is happening. “When you have a surrogate, for me, I realized that having a baby shower for Chi was actually so much more beneficial for my kids because they saw people come,” she said about the gorgeous cherry blossom themed party she had in November 2017. “They actually saw that it was like, ‘A new baby is coming.’ They got so excited for Chi to come that way, seeing that everyone was coming to celebrate the baby, so I’m actually really doing it for them.”
