Every kid dreams of a place where they can roam free, and Kourtney Kardashian’s three children — Mason, Penelope and Reign Disick — have that thanks to their gorgeous playhouse. However, there’s one catch — no technology is allowed inside.
The 40-year-old gave a tour of the incredible space, which is located in her backyard. It contains everything a kid would want with the exception of any devices, but Kourtney has a great reason for making it that way. “We made it a technology-free zone. So there are no iPads, phones, computers, video games, TVs — nothing is allowed inside,” she told Architectural Digest in a video published on Thursday, September 19. Instead, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is encouraging the kids to read by providing a mini library in the playhouse, as well as toys. “That’s why we have a lot of books and you know, it’s great for playing games — really just being imaginative,” she said.
Kourtney confessed that she’s always wanted a playhouse for her kids — ever since her eldest, Mason, 9, was very young. To make it happen, the mom of three teamed up with her ex and father of her children, Scott Disick, who was responsible for making her vision come true. “Scott had showed me a bunch of photos of inspiration. We kind of picked the one that we liked the best and that we thought would complement my house the best,” she said. She also added that they “even let the kids chime in a bit and give some of the opinions on some of the details.”
Scott is quite the expert when it comes to building and designing. The Talentless founder also gave Khloé Kardashian ideas on renovating her pool as seen in the teaser for an upcoming episode of Flip It Like Disick. However, he expressed he was nervous to take on the task because he doesn’t “love getting involved with family.” That doesn’t mean he loves his fam any less, though.
According to Lexi Kaplan and Allie Kaplan, who appeared on the show’s September 15 episode, Scott is all about his kids. “He is a really great father,” the twins exclusively told Life & Style. “He is just honestly a nice guy. I remember we were talking a lot — Penelope had some recital she was going to. He was so excited.” How sweet!
