LOL!Kristen Bell Admits She ‘Bored’ Her Daughter to Death While Giving Her the Sex Talk
While appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, February 25, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard revealed that they recently had a very important conversation with their daughter Lincoln — the sex talk. Unfortunately, it didn’t sound like it went according to plan.
“She asked,” the blonde beauty, 38, confessed to the talk show host about how the topic came up. Dax added, “We didn’t [go] like, ‘Oh crap, we gotta get around to that talk. We went through the anatomy, penis, vagina, ovum, sperm, we’re laying it all out. We get right to the action.”
Suddenly, things took a turn. “Right to the good part and she is like, ‘OK, I got to go outside.’ And she just left. She bailed,” The Good Place actress said. “We bored her to death.”
“She knows all the organs, but when it got to the actual — the nuts and bolts of the operation …” the Parenthood alum, 44, jokingly trailed off. Luckily, the duo can laugh about the incident now!
Dax and Kristen — one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples — has been together since 2007 and share two beautiful children — Lincoln, 5, and Delta, 4. However, their relationship started out, well, a bit rocky. “It wasn’t love at first sight until we both started talking,” she said on the Today show. “He broke up with me a month in.”
The dad-of-two had a good reason for not forming a connection with Kristen just yet. “Well, OK, real talk,” he said. “I felt unethically — I could sense that she was in another place than I was. I had just broken up with someone.”
Kristen explained that she was “ready to jump in,” while he still “explored other options.” She added, “In retrospect, it was the nicest thing he could have done because it was out of respect for me, like, ‘I think you’re in a different place and I don’t want to toy with you.’” Of course, Dax couldn’t stay away from his wife, as he called her 36 hours later and admitted he screwed up. The rest is history!
