Love Is Blind’s Tyler Francis’ Best Friend Defends Him: ‘He’s Made Mistakes in the Past’

Love Is Blind star Tyler Francis has at least one person coming to his defense after he quickly became the villain of season 7.

A man named Jake Fritsche claimed he was the reality star’s best friend and shared a TikTok video asking viewers to “wait for more information to come out” before casting judgment on Tyler, 35.

“The narrative out there right now is that Ty is some deadbeat, jobless father who abandoned his kids,” Jake began in the video shared on Tuesday, October 15. “That he is somehow the villain of this entire season of Love Is Blind. I’ll tell you right now that is not the case.”

Jake added that Tyler is “not a deadbeat father” and he “does have a job,” but clarified that he’s “not perfect.”

“He’s made mistakes in the past, just like all of us have,” Jake continued. “Now, with all that said, the mistakes that he’s made are not what they are being made out to be right now … I can say with confidence that Tyler is, in fact, or was originally, a sperm donor. It was an informal agreement. Unfortunately, he was young and dumb, did not cover himself legally like he probably otherwise should have.”

The content creator also pointed out that Tyler “changed his career path” during the casting process for Love Is Blind season 7. This was allegedly why fans saw his job title as nuclear security officer on the show and then account manager on the bio published on Tudum.

Jake then went back to the topic fans are most interested in, which was the situation between Tyler and the mother of his three children, Bri Thomas.

“Bri and her ex-wife got divorced. Ty kind of stepped up a little bit. He was being a good friend and knowing that those kids come from his DNA,” Jake explained. “He wanted to be there and help out a friend and, you know, just kind of step up and play that role of maybe more of like an uncle or whatnot. He was never supposed to be in the father role. Now where he messed up is that he never got any legal documentation to dictate that.”

He continued, “That doesn’t excuse him from some of the mistakes he’s made, like maybe not telling Ashley [Adionser] sooner. [These] are not his words, [these] are mine. I assume the reason he didn’t tell her in the pods is because he was obviously clearly vibing with her and he started to understand and realize probably that he could see a future with this woman.”

Jake speculated that Tyler was probably “terrified to lose” Ashley, 32, and likely feared that if he had revealed the information about his children in the pods, she would have “just dropped him immediately.” He also added that the belief that Tyler was “avoiding his kids” or “lied” was “not the reality of the situation.”

“I assume after the reunion airs we’ll get more information publicly,” Jake concluded. “As of now there are certain reasons as to why certain things are not being said and certain people are not speaking up, and I hope that ya’ll understand that.”

The Love Is Blind season 7 finale will premiere on Netflix on October 23 and fans will finally get to see if Tyler and Ashley find their happily ever after.
