Um, bye! Maren Morris slammed slut-shamers after she received backlash for doing a topless photoshoot for Playboy. The singer is here to say that she feels good in her own skin and is completely comfortable with her sexuality. The model teased a few photos on Wednesday, June 12, that will be featured in the newest issue of the publication. She can be seen tapping into her inner country girl while wearing red pants, cowskin boots and a cowboy hat.

“The thing about me is, I make music for myself,” the 29-year-old began a typed statement on her Instagram Story a few hours after posting the Playboy pics. “I learned later that it touches others, which is the most wonderful byproduct of a songwriter’s calling. Some can slut-shame me for my lyrics about sex and you can put me in your little box.” At the end of the day, “The Bones” artist is trying to live her best life. She added, “I just want to live and love.”

In case you were wondering, the country crooner is damn proud of the racy snapshots. “I recently accepted myself and will put these photos in a frame because I’ll never have this moment back.” The Texas native will be featured in the “Gender + Sexuality” issue that’s releasing on June 18.

Although the songstress may have received some backlash, tons of people rallied to support her and the gorgeous photos on Instagram. “Love it, [Maren Morris]! You are beautiful, strong and talented! Show it off!!” one fan gushed in the comments on a series of pictures from the shoot. Another person added, “You’re perfect! Don’t listen to any hate.” A separate user said, “To all of the … I’m suddenly not a fan people … You’re not the kind of fan anyone would want in the first place. If you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything at all just unfollow. Very simple.”
