Sarah Desjardins Is Making a Splash as Donna Sweett on ‘Riverdale’ — Learn About the Actress!
New friends? Sarah Desjardins is already making a splash as Donna Sweett on season 4 of Riverdale. The actress has quite an impressive resume and makes a great addition to the cast as a fellow classmate of Jughead Jones — played by Cole Sprouse — at Stonewall Prep.
She’s only appeared (so far) in two episodes during the newest season: “Chapter Fifty-Nine: Fast Times at Riverdale High” and “Chapter Sixty: Dog Day Afternoon.” We’ve already seen Donna hook up with Marmaduke (formerly known as Moose) and she appears to have a sense of mischief. It’s unclear where her character’s story line is going to go but we can’t wait to find out. From what she’s teased, it sounds like she’ll be buddying up with Jughead.
The 25-year-old actress dished a bit about her time on the Riverdale set on October 16. “I have worked a lot with Cole and he’s lovely,” she told The Whisp. “I’ve met everybody and everybody is really great. It’s important to feel comfortable on a set like that and they’re so nice to me and I feel really grateful to be apart of it. I can’t wait for everyone to see the season.”
Betty Cooper, played by Lili Reinhart, and Jughead’s relationship got briefly rocked by Toni Topaz, a.k.a. Vanessa Morgan, during season 2 — which sent Bughead shippers into a spiral. Will Donna have a similar effect? “I don’t know, I guess you’re just going to have to watch season 4,” Sarah quipped.
In real life, the starlet dished that getting the opportunity to be on Riverdale was like a dream come true. Although she was a bit nervous stepping onto the lot, she noted that the cast, which also includes KJ Apa, Camila Mendes and Charles Melton, were very welcoming. “It’s such a well-established show, everybody watches it, everybody knows it, so it’s interesting to get to go to a set like that and be like, ‘Hi, I’m Sarah, please be my friend,’ but they’re all so great,” the Canadian native added.
In addition to her new role on the CW show, Sarah also stars in the YouTube Original series Impulse, which is in its second season, and appeared in the vampire flick Van Helsing.
The entire cast of Riverdale is mega-talented and we think Sarah fits right in!
