Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and Baby Archie Arrive in South Africa to Kick Off 10-Day Tour

They have arrived! Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor arrived in Cape Town, South Africa on September 23 to kick off their 10-day tour of Africa. The royal family already looked to be having a blast and met tons of locals while enjoying their time exploring.

The couple announced their “official tour focusing on community, grassroots leadership, women’s and girls’ rights, mental health, HIV/AIDS and the environment” around Africa on September 6 via Instagram. During their trip, the former Suits actress, 38, and her husband, 35, plan to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu and governments in Namibia, Botswana and Angola.

The Duke will be following his mother, Princess Diana‘s, legacy in Angola “as he joins Halo Trust again in an effort to rid the world of landmines.” In addition, he will also “travel to Malawi where he will check in on the British Army’s partnership with African Parks and will be working on the ground supporting local communities.”

As for the Duchess, she will also be spending time with causes close to her heart. She will work alongside “local organizations to promote women and girls’ health and education, entrepreneurship and leadership.”

The royal duo closed out their lengthy mission statement by adding, “The Duke and Duchess cannot wait to meet with young leaders mobilizing change and adding to the beauty of these Commonwealth countries.”

Prince Harry extended a more intimate message to fans about how much this trip means to him. “In just a few weeks, our family will be taking its first official tour to Africa, a region of the world that over the past two decades has been a second home to me,” the monarch wrote on Instagram. “Our team has helped create a meaningful [program] that we’re so excited to share with you. On a personal note, I can’t wait to introduce my wife and son to South Africa! We’ll see all of you very soon.”

Of course, this also marks Archie’s first big trip since his birth on May 6. It’s amazing that the 4-month-old can join his parents because a source exclusively dished to Life & Style that Meghan has been working hard to prioritize the important things in her life. “Now that Meghan’s maternity leave has come to an end, she’s having to create a healthy balance between work and family life,” the insider dished about the gorgeous royal. “She treasures every moment she spends with Archie, who is the most adorable, happy, sweet-natured baby. Harry and Meghan say they couldn’t have asked for a more perfect son.”

We can’t wait to see what happens next on their tour. Keep scrolling to see photos!
