Hopefully, Meghan Markle doesn’t want a large brood! Prince Harry is expecting baby No. 1 with the Duchess of Sussex, but the soon-to-be dad once said he doesn’t want a lot of kids — specifically five!

Back in July, the royal couple greeted fans in Dublin during their tour of Ireland, and onlooker Elaine Adam-Stewart told Harry, “My husband also has red hair and he gave me five children — when are you and Meghan going to get going?”

Elaine later told People that “he laughed” and said, “‘Five children? Too many.'” Well, at least he’s got a sense of humor!

Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, shared their exciting baby news on Monday, right before beginning their 16-day tour to Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” Kensington Palace said in a statement. “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

The newlyweds attended the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank on Friday, and Meghan was super sneaky about hiding her baby bump!

“I KNEW she was pregnant when she wore that massive coat [over] the weekend!” one user commented on Twitter. “I knew Meghan Markle was pregnant when she wore that coat dress to Princess Eugenie’s wedding,” added another. Of course, hindsight is 20/20. That said, she usually wears form-fitting clothing — and this roomy ensemble was a far cry from being well-tailored.

In the past, the cute couple revealed separately that they’re eager to start a family. Back in 2016, Meghan told Canada’s Best Health magazine, “I want to travel more and I can’t wait to start a family, but in due time.”

Meanwhile, Harry told The Telegraph last year, “I would love to have kids.”
