There were two things Nick Jonas had to do before asking Priyanka Chopra to marry him: get a ring and get her best friend Meghan Markle‘s approval! Priyanka, 36, has been close friends with her fellow actress — and the newly-minted Duchess of Sussex — for years.

To secure a sparkler, a source told In Touch that Nick, 25, “shut down the Tiffany & Co. on Bond Street in London. He didn’t want anyone to spill the beans before he could pop the question.” The pair then visited Meghan, 36, and Prince Harry, 33. “Meghan cooked a scrumptious dinner, and they all had a fun night together,” the source continued. “Meghan adored Nick and gave her seal of approval! When he finally proposed, it was a no-brainer for Priyanka.”

Meghan isn’t the only one thrilled with the pair’s upcoming nuptials. “I don’t think any of us ever saw him this happy,” a source close to the “Jealous” singer told Radar. “Age isn’t a factor for him — he’s madly in love,” the source added, citing Nick and Priyanka’s 11-year age difference.

Despite the fact that Nick and Priyanka have only been together for a short while, rumors of romance have been circulating for over a year now. Who could forget the pair’s dazzling May 2017 Met Gala appearance? That said, it wasn’t until May 2018 that fans started speculating that things were really heating up. 

The actor and singer were spotted everywhere together: from a Dodgers game, to Beauty and the Beast Live at the Hollywood Bowl, to getting cozy at a Memorial Day party, if cameras caught a shot of Nick, there was a good chance Priyanka was on his arm and vice versa. We should have known then that things were destined for matrimony!
