Like any new mom, Duchess Meghan (née Markle) wants to spend time with her baby. It turns out, the 38-year-old was hesitant about going back to her royal responsibilities and leaving Archie behind, and honestly, we totally get it.

“Meghan had mixed feelings about going back to work,” a source revealed to Us Weekly. “She loves motherhood and was nervous about leaving Archie.” The brunette beauty has so much going on lately. Most recently, she teamed up with SmartWorks — a charity that helps women find jobs. She’s been very hands-on in the process despite being super busy. However, this project is perfect for someone like her, who is passionate about helping others. “Meghan always loved fashion, and as a true feminist, empowering other women is something she really values,” the insider told the outlet.

In August, she took to her official Instagram account to give a glimpse of a SmartWorks photo shoot, and throughout the whole clip, Meghan looked so happy and excited to be making a difference. “Behind the scenes … A sneak peek at the new @SmartWorksCharity capsule collection shoot, ahead of the autumn launch,” read the video’s caption. “An initiative supporting the Smart Works collective, which will equip the women entering the workforce with the key work wear essentials they need … Coming soon.”

Though Meghan is super dedicated to her career, Archie, who was born in May, still comes first. On September 12, she had to cut a royal engagement short to be with her baby. “I’ve got to get back to the baby, it’s feed time,” the former actress said during the launch of her Smart set capsule collection.

It’s only been five months since Meghan welcomed her son into the world, but so far, she’s loving every second of being a mom. “Motherhood is the best thing that’s ever happened to Meghan. That, and marrying [PrinceHarry,” a source exclusively told Life & Style in June. “Meghan says there’s nothing that makes her happier than seeing Archie smile. She feels blessed to have such a happy, calm baby.”

The family of three is currently preparing for their first royal tour together, which starts on September 23. We can’t wait to see all the pics!
