According to the Daily Mail, Meghan Markle‘s assistant suddenly quit her position recently, only six months after the actress became royalty.

The official spokesman for Kensington Palace declined to give comment on the situation. However, according to the Daily Mail‘s columnist Richard Eden, a royal source revealed just how much Meghan’s PA — who is identified by her first name only, Melissa — will be missed within the royal family.

“Melissa is a hugely talented person,” the source said to the Daily Mail. “She played a pivotal role in the success of the royal wedding and will be missed by everyone in the royal household.” The former assistant handled all the pre-wedding drama with Meghan’s father, who decided just five days before the wedding that he wasn’t planning on showing up. He kept the media on its toes, as he went back and forth about his decision to attend the nuptials. Some of Meghan’s other family members also complained publicly about not being invited. According to the insider, Melissa had her hands in all the pre-wedding commotion.

The news of Meghan’s assistant’s departure comes on the heels of reports that Meghan’s attitude has been difficult to handle. Even the Queen herself had something to say about it. According to The Sun, the Queen had a conversation with Prince Harry about Meghan’s demeanor after a fight they’d had regarding a tiara Meghan wanted to wear for the wedding. Reportedly, the origin of the tiara could not be confirmed and once Meghan was denied the ornate piece, she was given a diamond and platinum tiara chosen by the Queen. Reporter and royal biographer Robert Jobson’s new book Charles At Seventy details this feud between the royals, as well as other juicy tidbits about their lives.
