Hailey Baldwin Walks the Met Gala 2019 Pink Carpet Without Husband, Justin Bieber
Flying solo! Model Hailey Baldwin stepped out on the pink carpet at the 2019 Met Gala on Monday, May 6 without her husband, Justin Bieber. It seems like the 25-year-old decided to let his 22-year-old wife have the spotlight for the biggest fashion event of the year, opting to stay home with some takeout while she strutted her stuff with the fashion elite.
Hailey looked absolutely stunning in a super slim, baby pink custom Alexander Wang floor-length gown featuring a high neck. But the most jaw-dropping detail was that the dress was completely backless, adding a sexy yet sophisticated touch.
This isn’t Hailey’s first Met Gala! The model has been a regular for years, starting with her Met Gala debut in 2015, dressing in the “China: Through The Looking Glass” theme. Hailey returned in 2016 for the “Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology” theme, then again in 2017 for the “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art Of The In-Between” theme. Of course, she also attended last year’s “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination” themed event.
As for Justin’s absence, well, it’s not the first time he’s skipped the big fashion night. The first and only time that he made an appearance at the Met Ball was for debut in 2015, which is the same year that his current wife attended the gala for the first time.
But Hailey’s Met Gala solo appearance is proof of how much can change in a year. This time last year, Hailey attended the 2018 Met Gala with her then-boyfriend, pop star Shawn Mendes, and now she’s married to the “No Brainer” singer. Shawn and Hailey dated off and on for about a year before going public with their romance at the most prestigious fashion event of the year, only to call it quits just weeks later.
In June, just one month after the Met Gala — and shortly after his last and final split from on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez — Justin and Hailey were spotted out together. The couple was engaged by July and they tied the knot that September and the rest is history. Talk about a whirlwind romance!
