Nicki Minaj’s Huge Engagement Ring Is ’15-17′ Carats and Worth ‘Easily Over $1 Million,’ Expert Says
They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend and Nicki Minaj has plenty of them. Her latest addition consists of a stunning diamond ring her new husband, Kenneth Petty, seemingly popped the question with. It turns out the gorgeous piece of jewelry, which she showed off on Instagram on October 30, is estimated to be worth more than $1 million, according to Kathryn Money, VP of Strategy & Merchandising for Brilliant Earth.
“Nicki noted in her Instagram post when sharing pics of her gorgeous ring that the diamond is flawless, which would make a diamond of this size extremely rare — and expensive!” Kathryn told Life & Style. “Depending on the quality and specific characteristics of the center gemstone, we estimate the cost of the ring is easily over $1,000,000.”
It’s evident the 36-year-old hip hop star likes guys with good taste. “Nicki’s showstopping ring features an estimated 15-17 carat elongated radiant cut diamond secured by compass point claw prongs in a white gold or platinum setting,” the jewelry expert continued. “A hidden diamond halo and delicate diamond-accented band make her ring extra glamorous.” Meanwhile, when Nicki was with her ex Meek Mill, he gave her a stunning ring that “featured a bold 15-carat yellow diamond heart surrounded by a double diamond halo.”
Meek, 32, and the brunette beauty sparked engagement rumors when they dated from 2015 to 2017. However, the “Super Bass” crooner denied the claims. “First of all, it’s not an engagement ring,” Nicki admitted to Ellen DeGeneres during a 2015 interview. “I have two rings from this boy who likes me.”
This time around, things are different. Nicki and Kenny announced they got married on October 21, when she shared a video of “Bride” and “Groom” accessories. The two got hitched after a year of dating, and their nuptials didn’t come as a huge surprise, especially after Nicki got candid about picking up her marriage license in August.
“We still had to pick it up and I was traveling, by the time I came back, we had to renew it again,” she admitted during an episode of her Queen Radio show. “From that time, you have 90 days to get married. That was about a week ago, so now I have about 80 days.” Congrats to the lovely couple!
