Who doesn’t love a good smack? A video of Nicole Richie accidentally getting slapped during an interview is making the rounds because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love on-air snafus?!
The mother-of-two was appearing on Talk Stoop with Cat Greenleaf to talk about her upcoming show Great News, when the host’s high-five missed her hand and hit her in the face. The forceful interaction sent Nicole’s sunglasses flying and left Cat clearly mortified.
"Oh my god, are you OK?” Cat asked as the 35-year-old sat there stunned. “That was the craziest high-five of all time. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry."
But Nicole was able to laugh off the incident, and even joked about it when 45-year-old asked, “What’s a little fun notorious fact about you?”
“I was just abused, like two seconds ago,” the California native teased.
As for her new NBC series, which is produced by Tina Fey, the blonde beauty plays Portia, the cool co-host of a cable news show. This marks the fashion designer’s first time as a series regular on a scripted show, though she has appeared in episodes of Chuck and Empire.
Nicole and co-star John Michael Higgins on the set of Great News.
“It was so much fun. I had the best time. The cast is amazing,” she said of the sitcom. “I know everybody says that but I just went to work with an open heart and an open mind and I just took in all the information that I could. And it was the most wonderful experience.”
Nicole also gave an adorable shout-out to her husband, Joel Madden, naming him as her “favorite person.” The Good Charlotte rocker previously gushed about The Simple Life alum on her birthday in September. "Best Mom, Best Friend, Best Wife. Happy Birthday Nicole, You keep us all laughing," he captioned a candid pic of the couple.
