‘RHONY’ Star Luann de Lesseps Expects ‘Shifts in Alliances’ This Season
If this season is anything like the past 10, we’re in for a wild ride on Real Housewives of New York. When longtime star Countess Luann de Lesseps spoke to Life & Style exclusively at the Gloria Bell special screening in NYC on March 4, she let us in on how she felt season 11 may differ from the years of RHONY past — and some possible “shifts in alliances” between the ladies.
“Well, you know, it’s always different. It’s a new season,” the 53-year-old explained. “There’s, you know, of course, always shifts in alliances between the girls.”
It sounds like we might be able to expect some interesting friendships and connections between the ladies this year. We know we’re not the only ones that saw words being thrown between the countess and costar Bethenny Frankel, as well as costar Sonja Morgan getting the Skinnygirl founder’s wrath during a drunken night in the trailer for this explosive season.
What else can we expect this year? Come on, you already know the ladies love to jetset. “You know, different trips, a Housewives trip and it’s a great season,” the cabaret singer dished about the exciting Miami trip we saw in the trailer.
But remember, it isn’t always fun and games for the Real Housewives — and when that happens, they make the best of it. “There’s a lot of real-life issues going on and so you’re going to kind of see those play out and conflict and resolution and a lot of fun,” she revealed.
This season of RHONY is definitely going to be packed with a lot of the drama and struggles the ladies have been dealing with in their personal lives, like Bethenny’s ex-boyfriend Dennis Shield‘s untimely death back in 2018, and we can’t wait to see how they each overcome their obstacles.
With a new season comes some new beginnings — but Luann isn’t forgetting her RHONY pals who no longer partake in the reality TV life with her. “You know, I always miss some of the ladies, of course, when they’re gone,” the Countess told us. “And you know, we have my friend Barbara, who is new this season on the show. So you’ll see how that plays out!”
Luann’s pal Barbara Kavovit was a “guest” on the show during season 9, but she’ll be taking on the more involved “friend” role on the show this year, so we’re excited to see how she really meshes with this crazy crew.
