These days, it’s hard to escape shows like My 600-lb Life and Revenge Body. But true TV fans will look back fondly on one of the OG weight loss series, Ruby — which first premiered on the Style network in 2008. Across four seasons, we followed Georgia native Ruby Gettinger as she attempted to lose more than 400 pounds.

The now-49-year-old started the show at 550 pounds — at her heaviest, she weighed 750 pounds — and cameras documented the redhead‘s everyday struggles. “The world’s not made for the people our size,” she said in a promo. “It’s time to make a change, it’s time to live healthy.” At the end of Season 4 in 2011, she was down to 328 pounds. Through her website, Ruby offers 45-minute life-coaching sessions over the phone, and the former reality star even posted testimonials from a few satisfied clients. “Having the opportunity to have Ruby as my Life Coach has been the best decision I have every made for MYSELF!!!” one client wrote. “I am learning so much about myself that I never thought I would need to know about me!!”

Another added, “I enjoy life-coaching with Ruby because it causes me to step outside my comfort zone and reevaluate my everyday choices so that I am no longer stuck physically, spiritually, and mentally.”

She’s kept the weight off.

Before and After and still a lot more to go… That moment when you see an old picture and realize how far you have come. Wowey!!! GASP!!! Yes it's a battle and I've had a few big and small setbacks. I am not where I want to be YET But I am not where I was. I am closer to where I want to be. I can't believe I am saying this but thank you Lord for the battle because if it was easy I would have never known how to start over. During it all I am wiser, I know who my true fins are and love who I am!!! Never give up on you or anyone else. We all go through things great, good and bad. Though Ruby admits that she still struggles with her size, she seems happier than ever! Next to a before and after post shared to Instagram in June 2017, the motivational speaker wrote, “That moment when you see an old picture and realize how far you have come… Yes it’s a battle and I’ve had a few big and small setbacks.
