Ryan Lochte and Fiancée Kayla Rae Reid Welcome a Baby Boy — and Give Him a Unique Name!
Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte is now a dad!
The swimmer and his fiancée Kayla Rae Reid welcomed a baby boy on Thursday, June 8. "Never seen a miracle happen before. Until this morning at 5:46 am when CAIDEN ZANE LOCHTE was born," the 32-year-old wrote on Instagram. "7lbs 14oz, 22 inches. can't stop crying from tears of joy. Dream come true!"

The couple announced their pregnancy, which came as a surprise, in December with an adorable underwater photo. “My Christmas gift came early this year, can’t wait for next year! Best news I’ve ever received," Ryan said at the time.
Kayla added in her own post, "Just when you think you have it all figured out, life always surprises you with blessings when [you] least expect it. So excited to share this news with all of you!"
Ryan revealed they were expecting a son just one month later. “My baby boy is growing!!!! Doc says he has long legs! #bigboy #daddy #tooexcited,” he captioned an ultrasound photo.

The duo got engaged in October after just nine months of dating, with the athlete telling USA Today, "From the very first time I met her, everything has, like, clicked. That’s why I know I can propose to her because everything that’s happened and she’s been keeping me so positive. She doesn’t care about my fame. She doesn’t care about anything. All she cares about is me being happy."
It's no secret that 2016 had as many downs as it did ups for Ryan. During the Rio Olympics in August, the University of Florida alum was caught lying about being held up at gunpoint. In an interview with Matt Lauer he took "full responsibility" for exaggerating events that happened at a gas station.
Here's hoping this new addition will keep Ryan on the straight and narrow!
