Home is where the heart is! Selena Gomez might be a huge pop star, but she had very humble beginnings growing up in Grand Prairie, TX — and she’ll never forget where she comes from. The 25-year-old recent visited her childhood home and she shared a heartfelt message with her fans — and she even hinted that she may have preferred to have a normal life instead of being famous.

“The home I grew up in, from birth to 13… (no one was home when I knocked this time lol),” she wrote in the caption of a shot of her sitting on the front steps.”I visit this place every chance I get. In many ways, it very well could have been better than my life today, but I’m grateful for a voice that can enable change today. Even when I don’t know how to do it well or actually want it. I love you, Grand Prairie. Thank you.”

Fans flooded the comments section, telling Selena how much they love her and others praised for her being so humble, while other fans wrote messages of encouragement. “You are a great young lady. You are liked and adored by so many,” one fan wrote. “Keep smiling, keep going forward.”

Selena’s fans are so supportive, especially through everything she’s been through within the past year. The “Wolves” singer shocked fans over the summer when she revealed that she had undergone a kidney transplant surgery due to complications from her battle with Lupus. But even though it took a toll on her health, Sel recovered and the experience also helped her to rekindle her relationship with her longtime on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber.

But not everyone in her life is as supportive as her fans. Last month, Selena’s mom Mandy Teefey was hospitalized after an argument between the mother-daughter duo over Sel’s relationship with Justin. Sources exclusively revealed to Life & Style that Mandy doesn’t approve of Justin. “Mandy says Justin is trouble and immature,” an insider revealed. “[She] wants Selena to move on from Justin.”
