The song was produced by Benny, who also appears on the tune. The couple got engaged in December 2024 after a year and a half of dating.
“I would crash out too plus Benny is busting earning browning points,” one fan commented to Brandee’s post, who responded with a “100” emoji.

The lyrics to the song point to someone who has moved on and is happy now while reflecting at how miserable their ex is in their current existence.
Selena sings in the chorus with Benny’s backing vocals, “You’re so embarrassin’ / Go cry when no one’s watchin’ / I can’t imagine it / How does it feel to be forgotten? How does it feel?”
The songstress also tells an ex, “I hope one day you heal / How does it feel to be forgotten?”
One fan made a TikTok video showing Selena and Benny so happy together in photos over the lyrics, “He loves me, I love him / Look at you, just look at you now,” juxtaposing it with Justin having embarring moments with paparazzi.
Some Fans Think Selena Gomez Is Hitting Out at Hailey Bieber’s Marriage to Justin Bieber in ‘How Does It Feel to Be Forgotten’
One fan made a TikTok video that showed off Justin and wife Hailey Bieber‘s interactions along with those of Selena and Benny.
Over the opening lyrics, “And you walked in, big-ass grin /Talkin’ like we’re friends, honey, what were you thinkin’?” the video showed Hailey in two opening shots, followed by a photo of Selena and the model together over the second line questioning a friendship.
Over “He loves me,” the video showed Justin and Selena kissing, with “I love him,” showing Selena and Benny in a sweet smooch.
While Selena sang, “Just look at you now,” footage from Justin and Hailey’s wedding was shown, while over “You’re so embarrassing,” a video played of Justin skateboarding away from his wife while she ran to catch up.
Even more cutting, the fan showed a video of Justin and Selena getting cuddly at a hockey game, while the “Peaches” singer pushed Hailey away at a similar event as the Spring Breakers star crooned, “How does it feel to be forgotten,” which appeared to be a dig at the state of the Rhode Skin founder’s marriage to Justin.

The duo initially dated in 2016 but got back together in May 2018, several months after Selena and Justin broke up for the final time after seven years of dating on and off.
Their whirlwind romance saw Justin propose to Hailey in July 2018, and the duo wed in a New York courthouse ceremony two months later.
Hailey denied she stole Justin from Selena during a 2022 appearance on Alex Cooper‘s “Call Her Daddy” podcast.

“Sorry to do this to everyone but I had to look at these photos so you do too,” Courtney wrote over several cringy pictures of the couple, adding in the caption: “This is the WORST.”
On March 6, 2025, Courtney told followers in a since-deleted TikTok Video, “Hailey Bieber herself liked my TikTok,” along with a screengrab, adding, “Don’t necessarily come for me in the comments, but I was being a little shady to Selena Gomez.”
The content creator went on to claim, “I feel like this is definitive proof that, when Hailey Bieber is like, ‘Oh, it’s all love. It’s all good, we have absolutely no beef. Everything is completely fine,’ she’s lying.”
Fans Think Justin Bieber Is ‘Crashing Out’ After Concerning Social Media Posts
Justin’s latest Instagram post also had fans worried that he was crashing out. The “Sorry” singer shared a series of photos showing off a new nose piercing on March 30, 2025, while some followers thought he looked lost and forlorn.
“Are you OK, this reminds me of me during my crash out,” one user commented, while a second agreed, writing, “He’s fr having one,” with sobbing emojis. A third person added, “This and his stories are OG crash out material,” while a fourth person posted, “He’s like me fr when I crash out. I get it.”
One person thought Justin was having a meltdown while Benny was living his best life with Selena writing, “While Justin is having a Kanye moment. Benny is posting food and hyping his girl.”
