‘Pitch Perfect’ Star Skylar Astin Joins Dating App Raya 1 Month After Announcing Split From Anna Camp
Back in the game? Skylar Astin has joined the exclusive dating app Raya just one month after announcing his split from Anna Camp, according to a source from Us Weekly. The actor will be included in the ranks of other celebs like Demi Lovato, Zac Efron and Kiernan Shipka who use the members-only platform to meet eligible singles.
Obviously, the 31-year-old is ready to dip his toes back into the dating pool. He and the blonde beauty, 35, announced that their marriage was ending after two years on April 19. “We can confirm that we have decided to separate, and this decision was made mutually and amicably. We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this transition,” the couple told Life & Style in a joint statement. On the same day, The Help actress officially filed for divorce.
This was Skylar’s first marriage and Anna’s second. She was previously hitched to Scrubs actor Michael Mosley from 2010 to 2013.
The two actors met while filming the first Pitch Perfect movie in 2012. The South Carolina native admitted that she was surprised by their spark because it was such a transitional time in their lives. “He was dating somebody, and I had been through [a divorce] and he was like, ‘Do you want to go on a date?'” Anna dished to Glamour in 2014.
Despite feeling unsure at the time, she went for it. The True Blood star continued her story, “I remember thinking, well, he’s younger than me. He’s five years younger. He’s 26, and I’m 31. But I was like, ‘You know what? OK! Let’s do it, let’s see.’ He’s literally my best friend.”
Skylar recalled the events slightly differently during an interview with Popsugar in 2016. The Wreck-It Ralph actor gushed, “I knew the second I met her that I wanted to know her, and I just wanted to be in her life. I knew that.”
It’s sad these two decided to go their separate ways, but it looks like they’re looking ahead to brighter horizons.
