Sofia Richie Celebrates B-Day With ‘Family Dinner’ After Scott Split

Family celebrates first! Sofia Richie shared photos and videos of her stunning outdoor family birthday dinner on August 21. The starlet’s 22nd birthday isn’t until August 24 — but it’s clear she’s starting her milestone weekend off strong.

“Family birthday din,” the model wrote over an Instagram Stories clip of her backyard patio decorated with feather arrangements and a long table set up for dinner. The up-and-coming actress also shared a snapshot of her stunning pink birthday cake, which read “Happy Birthday Sofia” in white icing alongside a baby photo of her. So cute!

It’s great to see Sofia leaning on family during such a special time in her life — especially on the heels of her split from longtime boyfriend Scott Disick.

The former flames — who started dating in September 2017 — initially broke up in late May, just a month after the Keeping Up With the Kardashians regular checked himself into rehab to address past emotional traumas related to the death of his parents. His mother, Bonnie Disick, died in 2013 and his father, Jeffrey Disick, passed away months later in 2014. Scott checked out of the Colorado facility days following his arrival after photos of himself at the center and his personal information was leaked online.

The pair rekindled their relationship less than two months later and reunited at a 4th of July party on a Malibu beach. However, it didn’t last — the duo broke up for the second time on August 19, and this time it seems like it’s for good.

“They were very happy together but Sofia could not handle his issues,” an insider exclusively told Life & Style at the time. “They were never cut out for the long term because he has too much baggage and has trouble opening up to anyone besides Kourtney [Kardashian]. When he gets low, Kourtney is the only person he can turn to.”

While Scott and Kourtney, 41, enjoy summer fun with their kids — they just returned from a vacation in Idaho — it’s clear Sofia is making herself (and her family) a priority going forward. After all, the birthday girl deserves the best.
