On Oct. 1, Steve Memmolo stepped onto The Voice stage for his blind audition. Beyond absolutely killing his rendition of The Classic IV’s “Spooky,” the viewers and judges alike couldn’t help but notice one other thing. Steve and A-list actor Ben Affleck are legit twins. No, seriously, it was freaky!

So much so, that Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and Blake Shelton had to address the elephant, er, actor lookalike in the room. “Oh my gosh, you’re white! I didn’t see that coming! Holy, wow!” Kelly started. “I swear it would be as if Ben Affleck could sing like Aretha Franklin,” added Adam.

Steven eventually fessed up that he’s been compared to Ben Affleck on a number of occasions. “A couple of times today,” the singer quipped. All doppelgänger jokes aside, Steven’s talent was glaringly obvious to both Jennifer and Adam. In fact, the two judges began duking it out over whose team he’d end up on.

“At this point, I feel like I’ve seen it all, and every once in a while, a Steve happens,” Adam explained. “You’re really special dude, and I love that song, too.” Jennifer added, “You felt it in your spirit… what attracted me was your vocal approach and maturity. It was dope and amazing.” We agree, girl!

By the end of Steve’s time onstage, he ended up selecting Adam Levine to be his coach. TBH, we weren’t too shocked by that! Steve definitely seems like a Maroon 5 kind of guy. Here’s hoping that he made the right decision and that he continues to light up the stage throughout the rest of the season. Then again, maybe if singing doesn’t work out for him — he can spotlight as a Ben Affleck impersonator.
