So SadTamra Judge Reveals Melanoma Diagnosis with Instagram Belfie
Our thoughts are with Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge during this difficult time. The Bravolebrity took to Instagram over the weekend to announce to her 1.2 million followers that she has melanoma, which according to SkinCancer.org is “the most dangerous form of skin cancer.” Tamra showed in her snap that the spot is on her butt, and wrote in the caption that fortunately, they caught it early. The site also explained, “If melanoma is recognized and treated early, it is almost always curable, but if it is not, the cancer can advance and spread to other parts of the body, where it becomes hard to treat and can be fatal. While it is not the most common of the skin cancers, it causes the most deaths.”

“These cancerous growths develop when unrepaired DNA damage to skin cells (most often caused by ultraviolet radiation from sunshine or tanning beds) triggers mutations (genetic defects) that lead the skin cells to multiply rapidly and form malignant tumors. These tumors originate in the pigment-producing melanocytes in the basal layer of the epidermis. Melanomas often resemble moles; some develop from moles,” it read.
There’s no denying it’s been a tough year for Tamra, as earlier this month, Life & Style reported that her 18-year-old daughter, Sidney, had some harsh words for her mother. These were shared on her Facebook account. She started with, “I want to start by clearing some things up as my mother continues to talk about me despite me requesting her to stop speaking of me publicly as I don’t want to be associated with her or the show.”

Sidney also shared, “My mom has been portraying the innocent erased mother whose daughter was estranged from her due to divorce and an evil ex-husband when in actuality she is the sole reason why I do not want her in my life and will not have a relationship with her… However, the character keeps her relevant and is her only storyline. Why would she actually try to get me back? Without the estrangements she is no longer pitied and talked about and her fame and fortune go down the tubes.”
Hopefully these two can make amends, given the circumstances. We are wishing Tamra a speedy recovery!
