Oh No!Stephanie Pratt Dishes On ‘Awkward’ First Meeting With Sarah Hyland Thanks To Wells Adams
This may be a first: Someone had a bad encounter with Sarah Hyland. The Modern Family actress is famously loved for being down to earth and always keeping it very real with people. However, Stephanie Pratt had a bumpy first impression with the actress. She blames her Pratt Cast podcast co-star and Sarah’s boyfriend, Wells Adams, for the miscommunication.
The Hills: New Beginnings star dished to Us Weekly about the cringey moment the two first met. Stephanie, 32, explains that Wells, 34, had previously told her that Sarah was “the biggest Hills fan.” When all three of them happened to be at Paris Hilton‘s birthday party, the blonde reality star thought it would be a great time to meet the famous actress.
“I was so excited and immediately was like, ‘Where is Sarah Hyland?’ She was on the dance floor somewhere, so I made [Wells] bring me to her,” Stephanie began the story. “I was like, ‘Hi! Oh, my gosh. I’ve been dying to meet you. Thank you so much for being such a big Hills fan!'” It turns out, Wells may have exaggerated his girlfriend of one year‘s love for the show because Sarah, 28, apparently replied, “I never watched The Hills.”
Rule one: Never make a gal leave the dance floor. Rule two: Make hella sure she’s a fan before promoting your show.
However, Stephanie still tried to salvage the conversation by asking Sarah about more things she has neither seen nor heard. “And I was like, ‘Oh, OK, well, we definitely need to get you on the podcast. Did you hear the trailer? You’re our sign off!’ the 32-year-old continued. “She goes, ‘No.’ I go, ‘You didn’t hear our trailer?’ She goes, ‘No’ and she’s still dancing, so yeah, it was awkward.”
Unfortunately, the clumsy conversation ended up turning sour. “Then we got in a catfight because I thought we were filming The Hills and I was like, ‘You b—!’ but then I realized we weren’t and I was like, ‘OK, I don’t have to do that.’ It was a rough start,” Stephanie said. She added, “I still love Sarah. I never stopped loving her, I’m just a little hurt.”
Although Stephanie jokingly blames Wells’ embellishment for the awkwardness, the Bachelor in Paradise bartender insists, “It was a very funny night, like an interesting evening.”
Hopefully, if the two ladies cross paths again, it goes a little smoother.
